Job description
Engineering Technical Support is responsible for monitoring and supporting the performance, reliability, and security of ELM Microgrid's network infrastructure and connected systems. This role serves as a central point of coordination between internal teams, field personnel, and external partners to ensure continuous system connectivity and operational stability. Technical Support plays a critical role in identifying, troubleshooting, and escalating network and system-related issues in real time., * Monitor network infrastructure, communication systems, and connected operational technologies (including SCADA systems) to ensure uptime and performance.
- Respond to alerts, outages, and service disruptions, taking immediate action to troubleshoot and resolve or escalate issues as needed.
- Identify, triage, and escalate network performance issues, connectivity failures, and system interruptions across all supported environments.
- Coordinate with IT, engineering, and field teams to troubleshoot and restore network and system functionality.
- Support real-time operations by ensuring reliable communication between sites, control systems, and internal platforms.
- Initiate and manage incident tickets, ensuring proper documentation, tracking, and resolution of all issues.
- Assist with planned maintenance activities, including system updates, network changes, and scheduled outages.
- Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics to proactively identify risks or recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Ensure all activities align with cybersecurity protocols and company security standards for critical infrastructure.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance system reliability, monitoring processes, and response times.
- Support development and continuous improvement of NOC procedures, SOP's, and escalation workflows
Requirements
Do you have experience in Teamwork?, * 2+ years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), support, or similar technical environment preferred
- Experience with network monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and incident management processes
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, etc.)
- Experience supporting or interfacing with SCADA or industrial control systems is a plus
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to analyze system alerts, logs, and performance data
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, especially in operational or industrial environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment (if applicable)
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across IT, engineering, and operations teams
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency
- Remote work is not available for this position
- Must be willing to work all shifts
