Job description
We are seeking a Solution Designer to define and shape end-to-end technical solutions for a B2B Business Portal within a telecommunications environment. The role focuses on CRM and quoting/CPQ-style journeys across mobile and fixed-line services, translating business requirements into delivery-ready solution designs. This is a design and architecture role, not a hands-on development position. However, strong technical literacy is essential, including the ability to understand code-level concepts and collaborate closely with engineering teams., * Define end-to-end solution designs for portal-based B2B journeys (e.g. onboarding, quote-to-order, configuration, fulfilment touchpoints).
- Lead structured requirements and design workshops (e.g. JAD or similar), aligning business, product, and technical stakeholders.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into implementable architectures, including service boundaries, integration patterns, data flows, and orchestration logic.
- Design solutions leveraging microservices, API-first approaches, cloud-native platforms, and event-driven patterns where appropriate.
- Ensure designs address performance, scalability, resilience, security, and operational considerations.
- Produce clear, high-quality design artefacts using industry standards (e.g. UML use cases, sequence diagrams, component diagrams, interface specifications).
- Design solutions that use custom UI frameworks and modern front-end architectures, without performing UI or application development.
- Collaborate with delivery and engineering teams to ensure solution designs are feasible, well understood, and aligned to delivery sequencing (e.g. environments, releases, branching strategies).
- Apply a working understanding of agentic AI-enabled solutions, including where such capabilities fit in an enterprise architecture, and how they interact safely with systems, users, and controls.
Requirements
Domain Experience
- Strong experience designing solutions for Telco CRM and quoting environments.
- B2B experience highly preferred.
- Experience across both mobile and fixed-line services is mandatory.
Solution Design & Architecture
- Proven ability to independently define solutions from problem statement through to detailed design.
- Hands-on experience producing UML and architecture design artefacts suitable for delivery teams.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
- Strong grasp of cloud-native concepts (scalability, resilience, observability) and performance engineering principles.
Technical Literacy
- Comfortable working with engineers and understanding code-level concepts (e.g. APIs, data contracts, branching and merging concepts), without being a developer role.
- Experience working in modern SDLC and agile delivery environments.
Personal & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong facilitation and communication skills; able to engage confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Structured thinker with the ability to handle ambiguity and drive decisions.
- Clear, concise written communication, particularly for design documentation.
Beneficial (Nice to Have)
- Experience with MERN stack or similar modern web technologies, from a solution design perspective.
- Exposure to AI-enabled or agentic workflows, orchestration concepts, or intelligent automation.
- Knowledge of complex B2B product configuration and pricing models.
