Job description
The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for the implementation, operations, and day-to-day management of the organization's infrastructure, including networks, storage, compute, and security, as well as related/supporting services across on-premises and cloud environments.
This role may become a senior-level position depending on the candidate's experience level and, over time, will involve substantial responsibility for overall systems health, operations, systems planning, and design.
This position plays a key role in IT as a service provider supporting all organizational technical services., * Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, implement, and install network systems including:
- Servers
- Switches and routers
- Storage/SAN
- Virtualization platforms
- LAN/WLAN/WAN connectivity
- Interfaces/devices
- Firewalls and security appliances
- Hybrid/cloud connectivity
- Maintain inventory of all systems, including licensing and maintenance scheduling
- Manage and secure on-prem Active Directory and Azure Entra ID environments
- Support and secure common SaaS and on-prem applications, including Microsoft 365
- Oversee backup operations, including regular testing and verification
- Provide second-level support and regularly assist with first-level support as needed
- Execute and test disaster recovery procedures
- Evaluate, improve, and propose enhancements to current systems and procedures
- Partner closely with the Director of IT to improve overall user experience, efficiency, and infrastructure strategy
- Participate in ongoing professional development through training, vendor collaboration, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as needed
- Respond to unscheduled emergency operations and troubleshooting situations
- Participate in planned night and weekend maintenance activities
- Travel occasionally, including possible visits to customer sites

Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 3+ years of relevant business IT experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent additional experience
- Strong knowledge of:
- System infrastructure
- Servers and networking
- Storage and virtualization
- Security systems and virus protection
- Backup technologies
- Active Directory
- Windows Server
- Business WiFi environments, * Prolonged sitting with occasional bending, stooping, and stretching
- Requires sufficient manual dexterity and coordination to operate computers, telephones, and office equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Position may involve high-pressure or stressful situations, including interaction with upset users
- Must remain flexible and available to assist during disaster recovery or emergency situations
- Scheduled night/weekend work and occasional travel may be required
