Job description

Data Center Operator I provides support, service, incident and problem management to ensure performance and availability of SLA/OLA's are being met. Assists to ensure maximum computer operations effectiveness, quality of work, reliable data communications service, and data security. You will be working to assist with monitoring, support, and tracking for all enterprise operational systems, corresponding software, operating systems, and peripherals. This role is Sunday-Thursday 11:15 PM to 8:00 AM. During your training, you will rotate through all shifts. Your role and impact Here's a glimpse of your responsibilities and the meaningful impact you'll create as the Data Center Operator I:

  • Monitor all console activity for hardware or software error messages
  • Monitor all operational job queues
  • Monitor for when connectivity issues arise with clients, both internal/external in both the mainframe and distributed environments
  • Respond according to service levels to requests which initiate the Incident Management processes
  • Responds to all alerts in a timely manner
  • Conduct systems support activities, such as network and server monitoring, mainframe monitoring, troubleshooting, escalation and resolution
  • When resolving a mainframe and/or open systems problem, makes effective use of tools and resources, utilizes manuals, knowledge base articles, and other tools as an aid in solving the problem
  • Participates in weekend backup monitoring, IPL rotations, and/or any other off-shift needs
  • While this is primarily a remote work position, at any point in time, Associate may be required to return to the office in a temporary or permanent role

Requirements

What sets you up for success

  • Successful completion of high school education
  • Mainframe and CA7 knowledge
  • Professional qualifications, certifications, or equivalent training in Information Systems education as evidenced by a bachelor's degree or its business equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in an Operations environment
  • LOMA Level 1 Certification within 2 years of employment
