The Office of Strategic Partnerships-DevOps and Server Support Service (DSS) is currently seeking an expert inServer administration both in windowsand Linux. The ideal candidate should possessexperience inManaging large, scaled Server Deployment, Management and Administrationand coordinating technical support and fault isolation, including hands on support of servers, associated firmware, storage and related infrastructurebackups and restore; participating in daily teaming activities, including completing assignments and providing timely and accurate status reports; researching technical problems and recommending and implementing solutions.The candidate should be well versed in multiple Hypervisor and Hyper-Converged Technology like Nutanix., + Support enterprise server environments by deploying, administering, and managing virtualized server infrastructures for customers across multiple departments.

Troubleshoot system issues by analyzing alert logs, trace files, and incident dumps; resolve errors and coordinate with support teams on SR-based investigations.

Monitor system performance and tune environments to ensureoptimaland reliable operation.

Configure andmaintainHigh Availability (HA) server environments, including managing servers within Nutanix clusters.

Provide application support byassistingdevelopers with endpoint connectivity issues and collaborating with application teams on performance optimization.

Administer Nutanix clusters, including cluster configuration, hypervisor integrations, and coordination with Rubrik for system backups.

Manage backup and restore operations using Rubrik solutions.

Perform system maintenance activities such as OS patching,kerneland driver updates, applying security updates, and remediating vulnerabilities.

Manage Linux user access, storage and filesystem operations, and network configurations.

Monitor and troubleshoot system-level issues, including OS performance concerns, security vulnerabilities, and system hardening compliance.

Support enterprise cloud and hybrid cloud environments, including managing servers within cloud IaaS infrastructures.
What You'll Be Doing
The role is critical for the organization toadministrate and support critical database infrastructure to store and manage Enterprise database usedto provide support to various departments.The responsibility included are listed and not limited to the ones listed below. Server Administration Install, configure, and administer Windows and Linux servers in virtual environments. Manage storage,monitordiskutilization, and ensureoptimalserver performance.
Nutanix Administration NutanixCluster Administration, including configuration, upgrades, patching, hypervisor integrations, and overall cluster health/performance management.
Application Support Work closely with development and application teams to resolve endpoint connectivity issues,optimizeperformance, and ensure reliable application operations.
Database Protection & Nutanix Integration Manage Nutanix-integrated data protection for Oracle environments. Perform RMAN and Rubrik-based backups, restores, and database cloning across multiple environments.
Rubrik Backup Administration Support enterprise backup operations using Rubrik, including restore activities for various teams.
Linux Administration Install, patch, and configure Linux distributions including RHEL and Oracle Linux. Configure kernels, filesystems, RAID, system parameters, and manage security updates, vulnerability remediation, user access, storage, and networking.
Cloud Infrastructure Support SupportEnterprise and Hybrid Cloud environments, with hands-on experience managing Azure IaaS servers and integrating cloud resources with on-premises Nutanix platforms.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in Server Administration and Linux System Administration and general knowledge in Information Technology. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: Individuals appointed to a position in this class will be required to serve a probationary period of twelve (12) months and, if promoted to a position in this class, will be required to serve a probationary period of six (6) months. Performance will be carefully evaluated during the probationary period. Continuation in this class will be contingent upon successful completion of the probationary period.
Medical Protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment Medical History Form to assess your ability to perform the essential duties of the role safely.
Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences
All Applicants will be reviewed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR) for minimum qualifications. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be rated "Qualified," placed on the Referred List, and may be considered for an interview. Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:
- Expert Experience in server installation, configuration, and Administration.
- Experience in Linux Administration and configuration of Linux Systems in Virtual environments using Hyper-V or Nutanix AHV Hypervisor
- Experience with backing up databases and restoring them using Rubrik.
- Experience in vulnerability management and mitigation, applying security updates in Oracle Databases and on Microsoft / CENTOS enterprise servers, and assuring security compliance.

Please note: The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $94,837.00 to $138,715.00, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience., Our generous leave package starts with non-MLS permanent and term employees earning 15 days of sick leave and 15 days of annual leave in their first year, as well as up to three additional personal days each calendar year. Positions in MLS earn 35 days of paid time off each year. In addition, we offer all employees 10 paid holidays. Our leave policies adhere to the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993, and we provide six weeks of paid parental leave for new parents.
