Job description
We're looking for a hands-on VoIP / SIP Engineer with strong Linux expertise to support large-scale, real-time communication platforms in a live production environment.
This is not a general IT support role - you'll be diagnosing complex SIP signaling issues, call flow problems, and Linux-based VoIP services under real production conditions.
If you enjoy digging into packet captures, tracing call failures, and working at the intersection of Linux, networking, and voice, this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
-
Troubleshoot SIP call flows, registration issues, and signaling failures
-
Analyze pcap/Wireshark captures to isolate VoIP and network issues
-
Investigate incidents across Linux OS, VoIP applications, and network layers
-
Work directly in production to resolve service-impacting voice issues
-
Collect and analyze logs, traces, and system metrics from Linux servers
-
Support and maintain SIP-based communication platforms
-
Implement config changes, patches, and system updates
-
Partner with engineering to identify defects and improve platform stability
-
Document root cause analysis, fixes, and operational procedures
-
Participate in maintenance windows and production changes
Requirements
Do you have experience in Telecommunication?, * 5+ years supporting Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS or similar) in production
-
Strong, hands-on experience with:
-
SIP protocol and call flows
-
VoIP platforms (softswitches, SBCs, or similar)
-
Proven ability to troubleshoot using:
-
Wireshark / tcpdump
-
Packet-level analysis of SIP/RTP
-
Solid understanding of:
-
TCP/IP, routing, NAT, firewalls
-
Real-time traffic behavior (latency, jitter, packet loss)
-
Comfortable working entirely from the Linux command line
-
Experience handling production incidents under pressure
Nice to Have (Differentiators)
-
Experience with SBCs, softswitches, or IMS environments
-
Exposure to Diameter protocol
-
Scripting (Bash, Python, etc.)
-
Experience supporting high-availability VoIP systems
-
Familiarity with VMware / virtualized environments
-
Background in telecom, carrier, or large-scale voice platforms
What We're Really Looking For
-
Someone who can read a SIP trace and understand exactly what's broken
-
Someone who doesn't stop at "it's a network issue" - you prove it with data
-
Someone comfortable owning issues end-to-end in production
-
Someone who thrives in complex, real-time systems
Why This Role
You'll be working on high-impact voice systems where troubleshooting skill matters. This is a role for engineers who like solving real problems - not just monitoring dashboards.
