Job description

The Senior SharePoint & Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure collaboration platforms and advanced data visualization solutions in support of federal and enterprise programs. This role translates business, technical, and operational requirements into scalable SharePoint environments and actionable Power BI dashboards that enable informed decision-making, performance tracking, and compliance reporting.

The individual will work closely with program leadership, technical teams, and government stakeholders to ensure solutions meet security, usability, and governance standards while supporting mission and operational objectives., SharePoint Development & Administration

  • Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server environments.
  • Develop and manage:
  • Document libraries with structured metadata and taxonomy
  • Workflow automation using Power Automate
  • Permissions, role-based access control (RBAC), and user provisioning
  • Version control, records management, and audit logging
  • Build secure collaboration portals to support:
  • Program documentation
  • Knowledge management
  • Operational workflows
  • Ensure SharePoint implementations align with:
  • Federal IT and cybersecurity standards
  • Records retention and data governance requirements

Power BI & Business Intelligence

  • Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards for executive, program, and operational use.
  • Integrate and model data from multiple sources, including:
  • SharePoint lists and libraries
  • Excel, CSV, and structured datasets
  • SQL-based and cloud-hosted data sources (as applicable)
  • Develop:
  • Optimized data models and DAX calculations
  • Automated refresh and publishing pipelines
  • Role-based security for reports and datasets
  • Ensure analytics solutions provide:
  • Accurate, timely, and actionable insights
  • Clear visualization of performance metrics and trends

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Implement secure configurations supporting:
  • Least-privilege access
  • Data classification and handling requirements (e.g., CUI)
  • Auditability and compliance reporting
  • Support system security documentation and reviews related to:
  • Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Internal and external audits
  • Maintain technical documentation, including:
  • System architecture
  • Data flows and lineage
  • Configuration and governance standards

Stakeholder Engagement & Program Support

  • Collaborate with:
  • Program Managers
  • Technical leads
  • Business analysts
  • Government stakeholders
  • Translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in:
  • Technical reviews and demonstrations
  • Agile ceremonies (planning, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers as needed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in:
  • SharePoint development and administration
  • Business intelligence and data visualization
  • Experience supporting federal government (DoW) or regulated environments strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in:
  • SharePoint Online and/or SharePoint Server
  • Power BI (dashboard design, DAX, data modeling)
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Power Automate and Power Apps
  • Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Data governance and access control
  • Information architecture and UX best practices
  • Familiarity with:
  • SQL and relational databases
  • Azure services and integrations (preferred)
  • Agile and DevOps practices

Clearance & Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required to support U.S. Federal Client
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain MBI clearance level.
  • Successful completion of background investigation and security training required.
