Job description

Atlas Networks is seeking an ISP Field Installation Technician to support customer installations, service calls, and daytime field dispatch needs across our Seattle service area.

This is a hands-on field role for someone who is dependable, technically curious, customer-service oriented, and comfortable moving between different types of work. One day may involve installing internet service for a residential customer, another may involve turning up a commercial suite, and another may involve troubleshooting or replacing network equipment such as routers, switches, wireless access points, cameras, or other infrastructure.

The right person for this role is flexible, calm under pressure, and able to work independently while also coordinating well with dispatch, the NOC, project management, and other field team members. This position helps protect the schedule of larger installation and infrastructure teams by responding to service needs, break/fix issues, and smaller customer-impacting work that comes up during the day.

This position is full time and has strong growth potential for someone who wants to build a career in telecommunications, networking, and ISP field operations.

What You'll Do

Core responsibilities may include:

  • Install and support commercial customer connections, including suite turn-ups and customer premise equipment.
  • Troubleshoot customer connectivity issues in the field.
  • Replace, relocate, or reconfigure customer-facing equipment such as routers, switches, WAPs, cameras, power supplies, and related network hardware.
  • Perform basic low-voltage cabling work, including pulling, dressing, terminating, testing, and labeling Ethernet cabling.
  • Support MDF, IDF, MPOP, and CPE work, including patching, equipment swaps, and customer cutovers.
  • Assist with managed Wi-Fi and camera installations.
  • Document work clearly, including photos, notes, equipment details, labels, test results, and customer-impacting observations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, property managers, building engineers, dispatch, the NOC, and internal teams.
  • Work at a variety of job sites, including apartments, commercial buildings, rooftops, telecom rooms, offices, and customer units.
  • Occasionally assist with light infrastructure work such as radio, mast, cabling, or rooftop equipment support, though this is not primarily a backbone construction role.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management as part of day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunication?, The ideal candidate has:

  • A positive attitude and a strong customer-service mindset.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience in field tech, telecom, cable, satellite, low-voltage, electrical, construction, IT support, or a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Comfort working independently in the field while following defined processes and standards.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems logically and ask for help when needed.
  • Familiarity with common hand tools, cordless tools, ladders, cable testers, and basic field equipment.
  • Ability to terminate Ethernet cabling. Fiber experience are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as routers, switches, Wi-Fi, IP addressing, and customer premise equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially around labeling, documentation, photos, and workmanship.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working on ladders, in telecom rooms, on rooftops, and in outdoor conditions common to the Pacific Northwest.
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to company standards.
  • Ability to work in Seattle and the surrounding service area.

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Experience with ISP, MSP, cable, telecom, satellite dish installations, or low-voltage service work.
  • Experience with commercial buildings, MDF/IDF rooms, risers, demarcation points, and customer suite turn-ups.
  • Experience installing or supporting security cameras, managed Wi-Fi, VoIP, or access control systems.
  • Fiber handling, testing, or splicing exposure.
