Job description
The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications within IBM i environments and will possess a solid understanding of ERP and accounting-related systems. While the preference is for candidates who can work onsite in Long Island, NY, the client may consider remote or hybrid arrangements for highly qualified individuals. Relocation assistance is available for candidates interested in moving to the area. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications within IBM AS400 / iSeries environments
- Develop and support RPG-based business applications, including RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, and Free-Form RPG
- Work closely with business users and internal teams to gather requirements and implement system enhancements
- Support and improve ERP and accounting-related software functionality
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions
- Participate in application modernization and ongoing system improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes
- Assist with testing, deployment, and long-term maintenance of software solutions

- Experience with RPGLE, CL, DB2, and related IBM i technologies

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting systems and/or ERP software platforms
- Exposure to modernization efforts involving IBM i environments
- Familiarity with APIs, integrations, or web-enabled IBM i applications
- Experience supporting business-critical transactional systems
