SUMMARY: The objective of all departments is to position Visit Greater Palm Springs (VGPS) as the official tourism agency for the Greater Palm Springs area.
Under the direction of the Website Manager, this position serves as an integral member of the overall marketing team, fulfilling duties outlined below or otherwise assigned in support of the areas in, but not limited to: content marketing, SEO and website experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support the implementation of website updates and changes; creating, editing and updating website content as needed; providing daily oversight to maintain website accuracy; supports communication and coordination with the website development vendor.
· Support ongoing evolution of the website as a user-first experience.
· Assist in maintaining the VISIT GPS website through the content management system (CMS), including page creation, content/blog updates, landing page development, microsite support, quality assurance, and ongoing site maintenance.
· Support the execution of website content strategies to build, update, optimize, or remove pages in alignment with organizational priorities, annual goals, campaign initiatives, seasonal needs, and user experience best practices.
· Write, edit, format, and publish website copy and related digital content that supports VISIT GPS brand standards, SEO goals, campaign priorities, and partner visibility.
· Regularly review website content and structure to identify outdated information, content gaps, AI optimization opportunities, user experience issues, and areas for improvement based on performance data, search behavior, and organizational priorities in collaboration with Website Manager.
· Support the development of internal reports, summaries, audits, and workflow efficiencies through the responsible use of AI tools and emerging technologies, helping the department improve productivity, insight generation, and internal processes.
· Use SEO insights and search behavior to inform content opportunities and optimization alongside Website Manager. Use data to support recommended actions that improve engagement and overall website effectiveness.
· Collaborate with the Website Manager to work with internal departments, and external vendors to implement website updates, new features, technical improvements, and content enhancements in support of organizational and campaign goals.
· Participate in vendor communications as needed, helping support day-to-day coordination related to website development, optimization, reporting, content implementation, and other digital initiatives.
· Support quality control efforts by reviewing published content, links, layouts, forms, and on-page functionality to ensure a high standard of accuracy, usability, and presentation across the website and related digital assets.
· Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and processes. Maintain best practices through ongoing education, including webinars, trainings, conferences, certification programs, and other professional development opportunities.
· Support additional digital projects and departmental initiatives as assigned. Employee must remain flexible in response to changing priorities, deadlines, technologies, and organizational needs.
Perform related duties as assigned. Employee must be flexible to changing policies and procedures as well as varying deadlines.
Pay: From $70,304.00 per year
