Full Stack Engineer

ROLE DESCRIPTIONBrio Digital are supporting a consultancy on a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing engineering team. You will take a lead role in the design and delivery of complex, enterprise-scale solutions, bringing strong Java, AWS, and API expertise to a programme that is making a real difference to patient care across the country. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLead the design and development of robust, scalable Java-based applications across the programmeBuild and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, applying well-architected principles throughoutDesign, develop, and test REST APIs to a high standard, ensuring performance, reliability, and securityUse Postman for API testing, documentation, and validation across development and test environmentsContribute to architectural decisions and technical standards alongside the Technical ArchitectCarry out thorough code reviews, championing quality and engineering best practice across the teamTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues across development, test, and live environmentsSupport CI/CD pipeline development and automated testing practicesCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and product owners SKILLS AND EXPERIENCENHS or government experience is essential - candidates without this will not be consideredStrong, demonstrable senior-level Java development experience on complex, enterprise-scale programmesSolid AWS experience across core services including EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDSProven REST API design and development experience, with strong understanding of API security and governanceProficient in Postman for API testing and documentationExperience working in Agile delivery environmentsStrong communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and non-technical teamsComfortable working remotely and independently with occasional travel to London
