We are looking for an individual who is looking for an opportunity to gain experience in the world of construction and built environment. This is a unique opportunity to join a well established local authority team with a wide ranging reach and varied work stream. The services combined are responsible for the up keep of the estate and plan works for its improvement in response to the local plan, and aspirations of the Authority to improve the place, where residents live work and play. What will your day look like? The postholder will gain firsthand experience with the daily operations of the Infrastructure Teams, which cover Highways and Transport, Project Management, Project Delivery, Facilities Management, Estates, and the statutory Building Control function in a Local Authority context. Working under direct supervision, they will assist the Infrastructure Team's activities, help advance service priorities, and have opportunities to engage in project delivery and management., This graduate placement offers a supported, developmental introduction to working within a local authority Infrastructure Team. Based within North East Lincolnshire Council's Infrastructure Team, the post provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the roles of;

  • network management, traffic management and road safety
  • civil engineering and drainage
  • structures and highways maintenance
  • project management and project delivery
  • facilities management (planned and reactive maintenance)
  • utilities / statutory undertakers' coordination
  • design, supervision and facilitation of civil and built environment projects

Requirements

  • A highly motivated individual keen to develop skills in diverse settings.
  • If you possess a genuine interest in the construction industry, or building management the infrastructure team offers valuable experience in comprehensive project delivery, both above and below ground, through its established programs.
  • Proficiency in IT is required, as the position offers experience in general administration and the opportunity to collaborate with design and engineering teams utilising both two-dimensional and three-dimensional design software.
