Job description
As a Senior Google Data Engineer , you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and optimization of robust, scalable data pipelines and solutions primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . You will translate complex business requirements into technical blueprints and lead the hands-on delivery of the data infrastructure. Alongside Rik, our Head of Data & Analytics, you will sync with the customer and serve as the technical authority on how to best leverage GCP data services (like BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and Pub/Sub) to solve critical business challenges . You will constantly be supported by one of our PM's in order to deliver best-in-class solutions and will be a key contributor within the Data Tribe, driving technical excellence and best practices. !!! Important to know, if you are not a Google Data Engineer but an AWS Data Engineer or Azure Data Engineer and you really would like to learn and grow into a Google Data Engineer role, no problem we can train you !!! Required to have?
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * 2 to 3 years of experience in Data Engineering with a focus on building and maintaining large-scale, production-grade data pipelines.
- 5+ years of experience? Let your architecture skills and leadership shine.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services, including:
- BigQuery (advanced SQL, optimization, and administration)
- Cloud Composer/Airflow for workflow orchestration
- Pub/Sub for real-time data ingestion
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) , specifically Terraform , for provisioning and managing GCP resources.
- Strong experience with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Cloud Build).
- Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages used for pipeline development: Python (preferred) , Golang, or Java.
- Proven ability to design and implement various data architectures (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Warehouse) on GCP.
- You are familiar with Agile & Scrum methodologies and can act as a technical leader in sprints.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach more junior engineers, setting technical standards and conducting code reviews.
- You are proficient at communicating technical solutions to senior management and customers.
- You speak fluently English and preferably also French or Dutch.
Nice to have
- Relevant Google Cloud Professional Certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Architect).
- Experience with advanced analytics tools like Vertex AI
- Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka
