Job description
Noetic is seeking an experienced Cyber Engineer II with deep expertise in Microsoft Windows environments, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and IBM BigFix patch management. This senior-level role is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise-wide Windows infrastructure, with a strong focus on security, compliance, automation, and patch management. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Group Policy Objects (GPO) across large-scale Active Directory environments, including GPO strategy, troubleshooting, security hardening, and best practices.
- Lead patch management lifecycle using BigFix, ensuring timely deployment of security patches, OS updates, and application updates while minimizing business impact.
- Create, test, and maintain custom BigFix Fixlets, Baselines, Tasks, and Analyses for enterprise-wide patching and compliance.
- Troubleshoot complex GPO and BigFix-related issues, including replication, applicability, and deployment failures.
- Implement and enforce security baselines, least privilege principles, and compliance standards through GPO and BigFix.
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, BigFix ActionScript, and other scripting tools.
- Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and Application teams to ensure systems meet regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, FISMA).
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively resolve issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior Windows Administrators.
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Windows Systems Administrator in enterprise environments.
- Strong expertise in Group Policy design, troubleshooting, and management (GPO modeling, RSOP, GPMC, security filtering, WMI filtering, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Windows technologies.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and change management.
Preferred Qualifications
- BigFix certifications (BigFix Platform or Patch Management) highly desired.
- Microsoft certifications (MCSE, Azure Administrator, or equivalent).
- Experience with SCCM/MECM, WSUS, or other enterprise patch management tools.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with endpoint protection and EDR solutions., * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex, multi-tiered issues.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on security and compliance.
