Job description

In this role we are looking for more than a support engineer; we need a technical guardian who prioritises long-term system health over a quick-fix. As a small company team supporting a diverse range of organisations, they are looking for an IT Technical Support Lead to take personal ownership of the service desk's performance and technical reputation (there is no staff management as it would just be you).

You will lead the proactive maintenance of client systems, act as the final point of internal escalation for complex issues, and collaborate directly with the Managing Director on R&D for emerging technologies. What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the management of client systems to prevent outages before they occur.
  • Tackletechnical issues across WAN/LAN, firewalls, and security protocols.
  • Oversee "Go Live" phases to ensure solutions meet the architected specification.
  • Conduct assessments to support the design of bespoke client solutions.
  • Manage the support queue to ensure to not just meet, but exceed service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with the MD to research and develop emerging technologies for future projects.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Remote access software?, We need a natural "fixer" with a growth mindset who identifies systemic issues rather than just treating symptoms., * Solid experience in an IT-related role with a track record of maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange.

  • Experience of support for Microsoft 365, Remote Desktop Services, and robust experience with WAN/LAN and firewalls.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex jargon into simple terms for non-technical customers.
  • A meticulous approach to documentation and a high level of personal accountability.
  • A flexible attitude and the ability to multi-task in a fast-moving environment.
  • Travel to local client sites occasionally
