Job description
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance, to ensure high levels of security, performance, availability, and resilience.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain, processes using T-SQL, Powershell, and SSIS.
- Define and implement data access controls and monitoring.
- Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
- Be proactive and identify areas of improvement
- Handle incident, problem, and change requests across all severity levels through enterprise ticketing systems, following established incident and change management processes
- Document procedures, operational runbooks, and technical knowledge; share best practices with the team, and contribute to continuous learning and operational improvement
- At times, provide off-hours support, including weekends and holidays, on a rotation
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Minimum 3 years of experience in MS SQL or Postgres
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information System
- Proficient in supporting production database services per defined service level requirements
- Knowledgeable in Database Administration with a focus on data cleanup, transformation, architecture, and automation
- Proficient in writing and optimizing T-SQL queries
- Proficiency in SQL with experience in major database systems (e.g., SQL Server and PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of industry standard database solutions, including high availability, database clusters, mirroring, and replication
- Experience in database migration, troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Good understanding of database performance monitoring and tuning
- Experience working in Linux and Windows environments
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Aurora)
- Experience with CI/CD tools
- Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell or Pythion
- Experience with advanced data movement techniques, including CDC
- Financial industry experience preferred
