PostgreSQL Database Administrator

We are seeking a Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to support a high visibility federal program onsite in Washington, DC. This role is specifically focused on PostgreSQL and is intended for candidates with deep hands on PostgreSQL administration experience in secure production environments.

Responsibilities & Duties include, but are not limited to: Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases across development, test, and production environments Own database performance tuning, backups, replication, recovery, and operational support Design, implement, and support PostgreSQL high availability and disaster recovery solutions Manage schemas, indexes, stored procedures, permissions, and database security controls Enforce access controls, auditing, governance, retention, and compliance aligned controls Support Kubernetes based database and application operations Administer CI/CD pipelines and automation supporting database and application delivery Partner with developers, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and maintain operational stability

Active Top Secret clearance with current or previously held SCI access preferred Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140 compliant certification Strong hands on PostgreSQL administration experience in enterprise production environments Experience with PostgreSQL performance tuning, backup and recovery, replication, HA/DR, and security Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD Experience supporting secure, mission critical systems in fast paced environments

Minimum Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute 10+ years of overall DBA experience 5+ years of recent, deep PostgreSQL administration experience required Experience designing, implementing, and tuning PostgreSQL databases in enterprise environments Experience owning PostgreSQL HA/DR configurations and production operations Experience with AWS and PostgreSQL related cloud environments

Preferred: Experience with Amazon RDS, Azure SQL, or other cloud database platforms Experience with EDB PostgreSQL tools and enterprise PostgreSQL environments Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or MariaDB in mixed environments Azure DBA or related database certifications
