Job description

The PowerBuilder Developer is responsible in supporting and developing the solutions and conduct configuration management throughout. Update design and architecture documentation (data and system)as needed if changes are identified and approved by FEMA as necessary to the success of this project. The PowerBuilder Developer will design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications built using PowerBuilder technologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts, database administrators, and other developers to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions., * Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using PowerBuilder.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Integrate PowerBuilder applications with APIs, web services, and third-party systems.
  • Perform unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and deployment procedures.
  • Support production environments and provide ongoing maintenance.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Version control?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience developing applications
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle Database
  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as:
  • Git
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs and application integration.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Experience migrating legacy PowerBuilder applications to modern platforms.
  • Exposure to Struts, Java, and other web technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience in government domains.
