Job description
This role is best suited for seasoned IT professionals who can independently manage complex technical work, lead client projects, coordinate vendors, and serve as a trusted technical advisor. We are primarily offering 1099 project-based work, with potential W2 opportunities for those who demonstrate reliability, leadership, and interest in a deeper commitment.
We do not operate from a traditional office. You will have flexibility in your schedule, and we will assign jobs and projects based on your availability, skill set, and reliability. There are no guaranteed hours, but there is consistent opportunity for those who take initiative and perform at a high level.
In addition to client work paid at the posted rates, we may offer internal projects at lower internal rates, typically around $40/hr. As you become more involved, there is potential to take on more work, build new service offerings, manage teams, and participate in future equity or profit-sharing opportunities.
Note: Candidates must be located in or near the Sacramento area and able to travel to client sites throughout Sacramento and surrounding areas as needed. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently employed and looking for part-time or supplemental work.

- Oversee multi-day or multi-week IT projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Provide guidance to consultants and apprentice consultants when needed
- Document work performed, findings, recommendations, and next steps
- Support client communications through phone, email, and onsite interaction
- Assist with technical scoping, service recommendations, and project planning
- Represent the company professionally while working independently in the Sacramento region
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to work in fast-paced client environments with multiple priorities and demanding expectations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical clients
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and ability to quickly isolate root causes
- Ability to learn new platforms quickly and retain information from training, documentation, and field experience

Preferred Skills

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior-level IT professional who is comfortable operating independently in the field, communicating directly with clients, and taking ownership of technical outcomes. This person should be able to walk into a client environment, assess the issue, communicate clearly, and either resolve the problem or define the next steps with confidence.
This role is especially well-suited for someone in the Sacramento area who already has strong IT experience and is looking for supplemental project-based work with room for long-term growth.
