Job description
We are adding a skilled Cloud Engineer to our team to support mission-critical applications hosted in a hybrid cloud environment. This role ensures the continuous operation, maintenance, and security of a portfolio of applications by combining expertise in Linux systems administration, DevOps/Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation, and system support.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain the underlying AWS and OpenShift hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability for mission-critical applications.
- Provide comprehensive Linux systems administration across the entire system lifecycle, including provisioning, monitoring, configuration management, and security patching.
- Implement DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to facilitate a robust CI/CD pipeline and consistent system deployments.
- Manage integration of an IAM solution, ensuring secure user authentication, authorization, and SSO capabilities for the supported applications.
- Provide system support for incident resolution and tracking.
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED + 14 years, Associates +12 years, Bachelor's + 10 years, Masters + 8 years, or PhD + 6 years of experience, * Active TS/SCI
- Active DoD 8140 Certifications (Security+ or equivalent plus a subject matter cert such as cloud, linux, devops)
- Proven experience working within AWS environment
- Understanding of core cloud computing concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless computing)
- Experience running applications on OpenShift or other Kubernetes variants and working knowledge of IAM solutions
- Experienced with Linux systems administration (i.e., system build, monitoring, and maintenance)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools (i.e., Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab)
- U.S. Citizenship is required for federal contract support
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise with AWS services (i.e., EC2, ElastiCache, RDS)
- Experience navigating PostgreSQL databases using the command line (CLI) or pgAdmin
- Familiarity with security assessment activities (i.e, STIGs and STPs)
- Ability to troubleshoot user and system issues, managing tickets, and report findings to enterprise operations and management
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users, * A passion for working on cutting-edge, high-profile projects and a drive for delivering solutions
- An insatiable curiosity: you ask why, proactively exploring and sharing ideas
- A love for learning new technologies and sharing them with your team
- A keen interest in utilizing Cloud-based and Open Source tools for problem-solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with customers, vendors, and engineering teams to solve complex business problems

- Professional Development/Tuition Assistance program, Target Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Compensation may be able to fall outside of the target range depending on contract considerations.
