Job description
We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our team in Naperville, IL. This role delivers front-line corporate IT support with a focus on onboarding and offboarding, ensuring new hires are productive and departing employees are offboarded securely. The role supports Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, printers, AV equipment, endpoint management, and general IT projects, office moves, and infrastructure upgrades.
This position also provides field digital support for Chromeboxes and Skykit under the Digital Operations Manager, assisting with deployment, remote troubleshooting, and cross-training field teams. They document processes to improve efficiency and ensure consistent knowledge sharing., IT Onboarding:
- Create and maintain a repeatable onboarding process.
- Prepare, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and peripheral equipment for new hires in line with standard build profiles.
- Provision user accounts across Active Directory / Azure AD, Google, and business-critical applications (e.g., HRIS, ERP, communication tools).
- Set up and configure email, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and SSO access for new employees.
- Deliver IT orientation sessions to new joiners, covering acceptable use policies, security best practices, and key tools.
- Coordinate with HR and Facilities to align equipment readiness with confirmed start dates.
- Maintain an accurate asset register, recording all issued hardware and software licenses.
- Ensure all onboarding steps are completed and documented in the IT ticketing system before the employee's first day.
- Ensure new hire technology includes access to field digital tools (Chromebox, Skykit) as needed
IT Offboarding:
- Create and maintain a repeatable offboarding process.
- Execute timely account deactivation and access revocation across all systems upon receipt of a leaver notification from HR.
- Retrieve, wipe, and redeploy or securely decommissioned hardware following data destruction procedures.
- Transfer or archive mailboxes, shared drives, and user data in accordance with data retention policies.
- Revoke VPN certificates, SSO tokens, and third-party application access, ensuring no residual access remains.
- Coordinate license reclamation and reassignment to optimize software spend.
- Produce a completed offboarding checklist for each leaver and escalate any anomalies to the IT Manager.
- Revoke access to field digital tools and platforms (e.g., Chromebox, Skykit) as applicable.
General PC Support:
- Provide first- and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues via the helpdesk ticketing system, phone, and in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, printers, and AV equipment.
- Manage and maintain the IT asset inventory, including lifecycle tracking and refresh planning.
- Support patching, antivirus, and endpoint management activities using tools such as Intune, SCCM, or equivalent.
- Document processes, create user-facing knowledge base articles, and contribute to continuous improvement of IT procedures.
- Assist with IT projects, office moves, and infrastructure upgrades as required.
- Create and maintain digital templates used for various repeated business functions
- Provide remote troubleshooting and support for field digital assets (Chromeboxes, Skykit) as directed by Digital Operations, including documentation of common issues and solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve IT support efficiency through documentation, automation, and tooling.
Digital Kiosk Network Management:
- Provide technical assistance to support in-field digital assets, including Chromeboxes and Skykit endpoints.
- Support flighting and deployment activities as directed by the Digital Operations Manager.
- Perform remote troubleshooting and basic configuration for field kiosks or screens when needed, without assuming ownership of network uptime.
- Assist with cross-training on remote login procedures and standard troubleshooting steps for field teams.
- Document processes and tips for field troubleshooting to improve team efficiency and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Do you have experience in IT?, The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, organizational skills, and a process-driven mindset, collaborating with HR, Facilities, and Digital Operations to maintain reliable corporate and field IT systems., * Proven experience managing IT onboarding and/or offboarding processes in a corporate environment.
- Hands-on expertise with Windows 10/11 deployment, imaging, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Google administration (Gmail, Google Suite).
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Experience with Active Directory and/or Azure AD and Google user and group management.
- Familiarity with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM, or Jamf).
- Working knowledge of IT security principles, including MFA, data handling, and access control.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent onboarding/offboarding tasks and deadlines.
- Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide guidance to field teams
- Ability to document and improve IT and field support processes.
Minimum Required Education and Work Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a PC Support, IT Support, or Desktop Support role.
- Microsoft / Google certifications or equivalent work experience.
