Job description
· Software Optimization:
Enhance the precision and performance of the contraction analysis pipeline through systematic parameter tuning, advanced image preprocessing, and refined signal processing techniques. Retrain and fine-tune image segmentation models on curated datasets of organoid ring imagery.
· Software Adaptation to New SmartHeart Design:
Retrain the analysis software to support the updated SmartHeart hardware design, including adaptation of the analysis logic and ring identification algorithms.
· UX & Performance Enhancements:
Redesign key components of the SmartX 2.0 user interface and back-end architecture to improve usability, scalability, and processing speed.
· Post-Processing Pipeline Integration:
Conceptualize and architect a post-processing pipeline tailored to client-specific analytical requirements.
· Industry Workflow Compliance & Integration:
Ensure software outputs conform to the data standards and IT workflows of pharmaceutical industry environments.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Python?, · Master's student in Engineering with a specialization in Software Engineering, Deep learning, or related field. OR Master's student in Software Engineering with knowledge in biology
· Solid programming skills in Python
· Experience with image processing, segmentation and machine learning libraries.
· Interest in biomedical applications.
· Strong autonomy
· Strong communication and listening skills: interactions with internal and external collaborators, to adapt the software to the clients' needs
· Bonus: Experience with GUI development (e.g., PyQt, Tkinter) and bioimaging tools (ImageJ/Fiji, CellProfiler). Experience in signal processing appreciated.
Benefits & conditions
Join 4Dcell and become part of a pioneering French biotech on a mission to transform drug discovery and toxicology. We're engineers and biologists united by a single goal: to replace animal testing with intelligent, in vitro "organ-in-a-well" models that deliver unprecedented predictive power to drive tomorrow's therapies.
4Dcell has developed two flagship solutions: the SmartHeart Platform, which recreates human ventricular tissue in a standard 96-well plate, and the first-in-class SmartSphero Technology, enabling the generation of a wide range of organoids.
You'll collaborate with leading biophysicists, engineers, and biologists to tackle the toughest health challenges, from heart failure and immuno-oncology to pancreas and renal diseases. We combine ambition with a supportive, curiosity-driven culture.
