Job description

A hybrid role, involved in some aspects of production, product development, testing, commissioning and CxA partner training., AI Liquid Cooled Load Bank Operator / Engineering / Testing Services, The Load Bank Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of load banks used to test generators, UPS systems, and other power equipment. This role ensures equipment performance meets required standards by conducting controlled load tests, documenting results, and maintaining all associated equipment., * Operate resistive, reactive, and combined load banks for testing power generation and electrical systems.

  • Set up, connect, and disconnect load banks to generators, UPS units, and other electrical equipment following strict safety procedures.
  • Monitor test parameters including voltage, frequency, load levels, temperature, and system stability.
  • Record test data accurately and produce detailed test reports for clients and internal teams.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of load banks and associated cables, connectors, and control systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical standards, site rules, and health & safety regulations.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and site personnel to coordinate testing activities.
  • Assist with transport, installation, and positioning of load bank equipment on customer sites.
  • Identify and escalate equipment faults or safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Mechanical knowledge?, * Strong understanding of electrical systems, three-phase power, and load testing principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Competent in using test instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, and monitoring software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure during live testing.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with clients and technical teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field-based team., * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience working with generators, UPS systems, or electrical testing equipment.
  • Previous experience operating load banks (resistive or reactive) is highly desirable.
  • Valid ECS/CSCS card (site work requirement).

Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy cables and equipment (up to 25kg).
  • Comfortable working outdoors, in plant rooms, and on active construction or industrial sites.
  • Commitment to following strict safety protocols, PPE requirements, and risk assessments.

Additional Desirable Attributes

  • Familiarity with temporary power systems or critical power environments (data centres, utilities).
  • Knowledge of generator commissioning procedures.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional nights/weekends depending on project needs.
