Job description

The Microsoft Solutions Consultant serves as a trusted technical and strategic advisor to customers, specializing in Microsoft ecosystems including Intune, SCCM, Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern workplace solutions. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, and Customer Experience teams to design, position, and support comprehensive Microsoft-based solutions that align with customer business and instructional goals.

This consultant plays a critical pre-sales and post-sales advisory role-supporting discovery, solution design, demonstrations, architecture recommendations, and successful adoption., The following essential functions represent the primary work performed; however, other responsibilities could be expected that are not detailed here but fall within the scope of this role.

Customer & Sales Engagement

  • Act as the Microsoft subject-matter expert (SME) supporting sales pursuits and customer engagements.
  • Lead solution discovery sessions to understand customer needs, technical environments, and business objectives.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant Microsoft solutions.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, and proposals with technical input, solution narratives, and solution architectures.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, workshops, and executive briefings.

Solution Design & Advisory

  • Design and recommend solutions leveraging:
  • Microsoft 365 (Intune, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Defender)
  • Azure (infrastructure, identity, security, and platform services)
  • Modern workplace, security, and endpoint management solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers and implementation teams to ensure solutions are feasible, supportable, and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Advise customers on best practices for security, compliance, identity, and device management.

Post-Sales Enablement & Adoption

  • Support customer onboarding, adoption planning, and change management alignment.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Services teams to ensure smooth handoff and successful delivery.
  • Identify expansion and optimization opportunities within existing Microsoft environments.

Vendor & Internal Collaboration

  • Work with Microsoft and distributor partners on solution positioning, licensing, incentives, and deal support.
  • Stay current on Microsoft product updates, licensing changes, and go-to-market programs.
  • Contribute to internal enablement, documentation, and solution playbooks.

Optimize Work Processes, * Bachelor's degree in IT, CIS, MIS, Business Management or a relevant field, or the equivalent amount of training and hands-on experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position

  • 5-7 years of experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or pre-sales role
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-900, AZ-900, SC-900, AZ-104, MS-102).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance, and device management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and/or Azure solutions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud, identity, security, and modern workplace concepts.
  • Experience supporting RFPs and large, multi-stakeholder engagements
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically to contribute toward organizational planning
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly, professionally, and persuasively to customers and partners
  • Creative, and results oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with others to identify and solve issues, make proactive recommendations, and lead through influence
  • Self-directed and punctual work style, able to work autonomously, prioritize to meet deadlines and deliver results
  • Ability to travel within sales territory routinely and nationwide if necessary.
