AI Engineer (Hybrid in NYC or CT)

We are looking for a motivated and adaptable AI Engineer to help design, build, and deliver AI-powered features in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work closely with product managers, senior AI engineers, and AI platform engineers to bring evolving ideas to life while maintaining strong standards for security, correctness, and reliability.

This role is well-suited for an engineer who is comfortable with change, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to real-world AI features.

Responsibilities

AI Feature Development

• Contribute to the development and delivery of AI-powered features and services.

• Implement solutions based on evolving requirements and changing priorities.

• Assist with prototyping, experimentation, and iteration under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Help move AI solutions from prototype to production-ready implementations.

Collaboration & Execution

• Work closely with product managers to understand feature goals and user needs.

• Collaborate with senior AI engineers and AI platform engineers to leverage shared tools, infrastructure, and best practices.

• Participate in design discussions and technical reviews.

• Adapt quickly to changing direction while maintaining focus on delivery.

Engineering Quality & Security

• Follow established engineering standards for security, data handling, and access control.

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.

• Assist in implementing monitoring, logging, and basic evaluation for AI features.

• Help identify and troubleshoot issues related to performance, reliability, or model behavior.

AI Systems & Integration

• Build and integrate AI solutions using techniques such as LLMs, APIs, and retrieval-based approaches.

• Implement and iterate on prompts, workflows, and evaluation logic.

• 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, with exposure to AI or ML systems and concepts.

• Proficiency in Python or a similar language, Javascript or Typescript frameworks for UI rendering.

• Experience integrating APIs or third-party AI services.

• Comfort working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.

• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals (APIs, testing, version control).

• Awareness of security and data privacy considerations. * Experience with LLMs or modern AI frameworks.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deploying services in production.

• Exposure to prompt engineering, evaluation techniques, or AI monitoring.

• Experience working on cross-functional product teams.
