Job description

As our Cloud Engineer, you'll design, deploy, maintain, migrate, and troubleshoot enterprise applications and virtualized environments across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. You'll architect, implement, administer, and optimize solutions across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, leveraging your experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Create and maintain current-state and future-state architecture documentation and lead/support key cloud solution projects.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity in cloud and on-prem environments by applying data security standards, recommending enhancements, and implementing controls that protect PHI and other sensitive data.
  • Support incident response activities and contribute to cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud platforms, system monitoring, and backup services.
  • Maintain and present a cloud strategy roadmap to leadership quarterly.
  • Plan and execute migrations from on-premises to cloud platforms.
  • Partner with operations and development teams to optimize deployments and automate infrastructure using IaC.
  • Troubleshoot cloud resource issues with development teams.
  • Support the Risk Management program by continuously evaluating IT security practices and identifying improvements.
  • Assist with the Third-Party Vendor Risk Management Program, including security assessments and contract language review.
  • Participate in legal/privacy contract negotiations and third-party risk assessments.
  • Assist with GRC tools to track and evaluate compliance risks.
  • Support identity and access management (IAM) governance.
  • Ensure proper security controls across cloud platforms.
  • Monitor cloud utilization, escalate cost impacts, identify savings, and build cloud budget dashboards.
  • Work closely with vendors to optimize cloud and security performance.
  • Administer the mobile device management (MDM) platform.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity initiatives, external audits, compliance (HIPAA/HITECH, PCI, GDPR), and ongoing threat monitoring.
  • Communicate security risks to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in incident response situations based on organizational policies and runbooks.
  • Support data security and privacy policies and ensure business processes align with compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity and compliance-related training for staff.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation efforts as needed.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Training employees on security practices?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years prior IT experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on administration with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS (Azure preferred).
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting PaaS and IaaS technologies.
  • Proven experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience implementing and reporting on cloud security strategies.
  • Ability to develop and execute cybersecurity plans and policies.
  • Experience developing, monitoring, and reporting on cybersecurity awareness training.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and supporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-moving IT environment and stay current on threat models and new security technologies.
  • Outstanding communication skills for leadership-level reporting.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to shift priorities as needed.

Desired:

  • Cloud administration certification(s) or active pursuit.
  • Cybersecurity certification(s) or active pursuit.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Expertise in antivirus, IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, DLP, file integrity monitoring, and content filtering solutions.
  • Experience in incident response and/or disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of risk and compliance assessment tools and methodologies.

Travel:

  • Up to 10 days per year
