Job description

Datapath currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft 365 migrations, endpoint management with Intune and Autopilot, virtualization, and core systems infrastructure. If you're looking for an environment where you can utilize your independent technical skill set, vastly expand your knowledge through technology exposure, and mentor a great team, then we want to hear from you!, The Systems Engineer is an expert in systems infrastructure design, planning, deployment, and operational management. In this position, the Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading cloud and on-premises systems initiatives - including Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, modern endpoint management, hypervisor environments, and core services such as DNS and email security. This person will communicate and maintain strong working relationships while providing escalation support, recommendations, and corrective action to ensure optimal systems performance for clients. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of teamwork and customer service., * Design, implement, migrate, and support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams - with hands-on experience leading tenant-to-tenant and on-premises-to-cloud migrations.

  • Design, implement, and manage modern endpoint deployments using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, including device provisioning profiles, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application packaging.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual environments using both VMware (vSphere/ESXi) and Microsoft Hyper-V, including clustering, high availability, and disaster recovery configurations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain SAN infrastructure, including installation, LUN provisioning, iSCSI/Fibre Channel configuration, replication, and performance tuning.
  • Configure and manage DNS infrastructure (internal and external), including Active Directory-integrated DNS, conditional forwarders, split-horizon DNS, and DNS records supporting mail flow (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, Autodiscover).
  • Implement and maintain email hygiene and security solutions, including spam filtering, anti-phishing, ATP/Defender for Office 365, encryption, and email authentication standards.
  • Provide advanced systems engineering expertise across Active Directory, Group Policy, Entra ID (Azure AD), Windows Server, file services, certificate services, and identity/access management.
  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Serve as an escalation resource on complex issues and provide overflow support as needed.
  • Train, coach, and mentor technical staff.
  • Enter time daily and maintain an accurate project calendar.
  • Maintain excellent communication with peers, clients, and management and demonstrate leadership abilities.
  • Ongoing education, training, and maintenance of technology and product-specific knowledge.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Windows?, * Minimum 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting Microsoft and virtualization-based systems infrastructure in a professional services or MSP environment.

  • Demonstrated experience leading Microsoft 365 migrations (mailbox, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams), including hybrid Exchange configurations and cutover/staged/hybrid migration strategies.
  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for modern device provisioning, application deployment, and compliance management.
  • Strong virtualization experience with VMware (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter) AND Microsoft Hyper-V, including clustering and live migration.
  • SAN and iSCSI experience, including initial setup, installation, configuration, and ongoing administration.
  • Strong knowledge of DNS architecture and troubleshooting in both Windows and cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing and managing email hygiene/security platforms (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Proofpoint, Mimecast, Barracuda) and email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC).
  • Advanced systems administration expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, DHCP, and certificate services.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hybrid identity, mail flow, virtualization, storage, and endpoint management.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and bulk administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified (Enterprise Administrator Expert, Endpoint Administrator), Azure certifications, or VMware VCP are highly preferred.
  • Travel may be required from time to time for customer site visits and deployments
