IT Summer Associate

Are you passionate about IT and business but equally obsessed with the power of Artificial Intelligence? We are seeking a highly motivated IT Summer Intern to join our team in San Mateo and spearhead our AI & automation initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in impactful projects that help to drive and shape the way Freshworks operates. You will have the opportunity to work with IT and various business teams in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Product to identify use-cases, design and propose AI solutions, build prototypes, and make implementation recommendations. You will also work with best-in-class enterprise applications, including Workday, Salesforce, Slack & NetSuite., + Identify Use Cases: Work with business and IT teams to identify business challenges and process gaps that can be quantified and solved with AI solutions.

• **AI Integration & Automation: **Use, research, test, and implement AI tools (e.g., LLMs, Gemini, Claude, or RPA) to find the best solutions for identified use cases.
• **Prompt Engineering & Data Querying: **Develop optimized prompts and queries to extract actionable insights from large datasets pulled from our SaaS systems using Generative AI tools.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT and cross-functional business teams to ensure automated solutions are secure and scalable.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a closely related field
• Strong foundational understanding of core IT concepts and programming (e.g., Python).
• A fundamental understanding of Generative AI, Machine Learning concepts, or robotic process automation (RPA)
• Hands-on experience using APIs (e.g, OpenAI API), building custom scripts, and working with Gemini or Claude
• A strong desire to learn and a passion for building practical, impactful AI solutions, + Familiarity with best-in-class enterprise applications (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, Slack & NetSuite) is a strong plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical AI/automation concepts to non-technical business professionals

Please note this is a paid, full-time (40 hours/week), fixed-term Associate internship running from June through September. This is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3x/week (Tuesday - Thursday) from our San Mateo, CA headquarters.
