Job description
- Implement and support Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure solutions
- Configure, manage, and optimise compute, storage, networking, and security services
- Support migration, modernisation, and upgrade activities
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents and changes
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
- Support service transition into in-life managed support
- Collaborate with senior engineers and architects on solution delivery
- Mentor Level 2 engineers and support skills development
- Clearly communicate technical decisions and issues to stakeholders
Financial Services & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure engineering activities comply with financial services regulations (e.g. FCA, PRA, DORA, ISO 27001)
- Apply security, data protection, and operational resilience controls
- Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and change records
Governance & Reporting
- Track and manage technical risks, issues, and actions
- Support governance activities including incident and change management
- Contribute to service reporting and operational reviews
- Ensure documentation aligns with governance standards

Proven experience delivering Azure and Private Cloud infrastructure solutions

Strong understanding of Azure services and hybrid/private cloud architectures

Experience with VMware and VMware Cloud Foundation environments

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, including:

Terraform
-
Azure DevOps
-
PowerShell
-
ARM templates
-
Solid knowledge of networking (VPN, DNS, load balancing, firewalls)

Experience with backup technologies such as Veeam and/or Rubrik
-
Good understanding of security best practices in Azure and VMware environments

Strong troubleshooting skills in complex hybrid environments

Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems

Fluent written and spoken English is essential. The role requires the ability to produce audit-ready documentation and communicate confidently with senior and executive-level stakeholders

Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks (e.g. CIS Benchmarks, Well-Architected Framework).
Desirable:
- Experience with container platforms (AKS, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience supporting financial services or regulated customers
- Familiarity with hybrid networking and data centre integration patterns
