Job description
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will support the reliability, scalability, and security of SpendHQ's cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.
This role is designed for someone early in their engineering career, with at least a first hands-on experience, who wants to develop experience with cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and modern DevOps practices in a SaaS environment.
You will work closely with senior DevOps engineers, software engineers, security team, and product team while receiving structured mentoring and technical coaching. You will progressively gain more ownership and autonomy as you grow within the team and platform.
What will your job entail?
- Support cloud infrastructure management and deployment operations
- Help maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Monitor system performance, alerts, and platform reliability
- Participate in troubleshooting incidents and assist with root cause analysis
- Assist with infrastructure-as-code implementation and maintenance
- Contribute to security, backup, and infrastructure reliability processes
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency
- Help document infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures
- Support environment provisioning and configuration management
- Learn and apply DevOps best practices across the engineering organization, * Contribute to stable and reliable deployment processes
- Support production operations and incident response (if any) with guidance from senior engineers
- Improve automation and operational efficiency through small projects
- Develop confidence working across cloud and DevOps tooling
- Build strong working relationships with engineering and product teams
Requirements
Do you have experience in System administration?, * 1 to 3 years of experience in DevOps, system administration, cloud engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure
- First experience or familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar
- Understanding of containers and orchestration concepts such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure as code is a plus.
- Familiarity with Linux systems, databases such as PostgreSQL or Redis, SSL, monitoring, or infrastructure operations is appreciated.
- Basic knowledge of monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting, or observability tools is a plus.
- Interest in security, compliance, infrastructure best practices, and secure environments is appreciated.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, as the primary working language. Proficiency in French is a plus for the ideal candidate.
