Job description
As an IT Project Manager within our IT Planning & Governance department, you serve as the vital link between strategic business objectives and technical execution. Your mission is to lead complex IT initiatives that modernize our infrastructure and software landscape, ensuring every project delivers measurable value to our operations and internal customers. You will orchestrate resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations to drive digital transformation across the organization, acting as a catalyst for technological advancement.
A Day in Your Life
In a global organization with a rich Japanese heritage dating back to 1915, you will spend your days balancing the stability of established systems with the agility required for modern innovation. You might start your morning coordinating with third-party vendors on a cybersecurity rollout, followed by a mid-day session refining a business case for a new software implementation. Your afternoons are often dedicated to navigating a diverse stakeholder landscape, where you translate technical requirements into clear business impacts for leadership.
Key Challenges
Success in this role requires high emotional intelligence to manage dependencies across multiple departments. You will be tasked with maintaining project momentum even when priorities shift or technical complexities arise. Bridging the gap between legacy processes and future-ready digital solutions requires a structured approach and the ability to influence without direct authority.
The IT Projects and IT Demands that you manage can have a regional scope or a global scope. Both types have their specific set of stakeholders, from regular office workers without any IT knowledge up to Global IT Leaders in our Headquarters in Tokyo.

We operate with a collaborative mindset, where proactive risk identification is encouraged, and knowledge sharing is part of our daily rhythm.
Who You Are

You understand the role and responsibilities of a Project Manager and a Project Management Office (PMO). You remain calm under pressure and possess the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences with ease.
