Job description
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and stabilising critical infrastructure systems that support complex maritime and defence programmes.
Day-to-day, you'll be working hands-on across server and virtualisation environments, helping to stabilise existing infrastructure while contributing to the design and build of next-generation systems.
Your responsibilities will include: Supporting and delivering server and virtualisation infrastructure solutions across key projects Migrating and optimising environments into VMware-based virtual stacks Collaborating with network engineers to stabilise and improve infrastructure environments Building, configuring and integrating systems across physical and virtual platforms Producing technical documentation, test plans and implementation artefacts Engaging with stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers within the team
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization?, Strong experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on server and virtualisation technologies Hands-on experience with VMware and virtualised environments Experience working with Windows Server in complex environments Proven ability to troubleshoot, stabilise and improve infrastructure systems Experience working in collaborative engineering teams and engaging with stakeholders Ability to take ownership, work autonomously and contribute to team success

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Gosport site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Expect some travel to our Portsmouth site (Portsdown Technology Park) when required (approx 20 minutes away). Standard working times are 8AM-4PM, with the option of a condensed work week that allows you to have every other Friday off.
