Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team in central PA. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in building out our support team, leading and assisting with IT projects, and serving as a key technical resource for both our clients and junior helpdesk team members. This position involves delivering high-quality, client-focused IT support while implementing and maintaining advanced technologies across networking, cloud infrastructure, and endpoint management.

You will mentor junior technicians, lead by example, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization., Client Support & Customer Service

  • Provide both remote and onsite support to clients with a friendly, quick, and helpful approach
  • Work on and resolve escalated Level 2/3 helpdesk tickets requiring advanced troubleshooting
  • Deliver advanced remote troubleshooting and technical support across diverse technologies
  • Remote hardware maintenance, support, and proactive system monitoring
  • Communicate ticket status to clients throughout the resolution process and notify them of any changes as needed
  • Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and service delivery

Technical Leadership & Team Collaboration

  • Act as a technical resource and mentor for junior helpdesk team members
  • Lead and assist with IT projects, acting as technical lead on small to medium projects
  • Collaborate with team members to plan, coordinate, and execute client IT initiatives
  • Share knowledge through documentation, training, and team collaboration
  • Follow all security procedures and maintain vigilant watch for security issues
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change

Cloud Technologies & Infrastructure Management

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions in Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Configure and manage Entra Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, and hybrid identity solutions
  • Deploy and maintain virtual servers, cloud infrastructure, and backup solutions
  • Monitor cloud performance, security, and cost optimization for clients

Network Administration & Security

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware including Meraki and Ubiquiti equipment
  • Implement and manage network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security using RMM and monitoring tools
  • Perform network troubleshooting, optimization, and capacity planning
  • Implement network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection

Tools, Automation & Documentation

  • Utilize PSA and RMM tools similar to NinjaOne for monitoring, management, and automation
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate client documentation throughout all processes
  • Focus on automation and scripting to deliver consistent, efficient support

Project Work & Implementation

Collaborate with team members to plan, coordinate, and execute client IT projects

Act as technical lead on smaller projects or designated components of larger projects

Guide and mentor other technicians throughout project implementation

Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client communication

Administrative & Reporting

  • Submit timesheets and expense reports as defined by leadership
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the success of the company
  • Undertake other duties as required by CTO and/or President

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, * Automation mindset with experience in scripting and process automation

  • Strong technical expertise in cloud technologies including Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware including Meraki and/or Ubiquiti equipment
  • Proven ability to configure and manage switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, and network infrastructure
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills across hardware, software, and network issues
  • Experience providing both remote and onsite technical support
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites as needed
  • Ability to keep up with and adapt to the fast-paced IT world
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent team attitude with proven ability to mentor and collaborate
  • Great communication skills, founded in being a good listener, * Experience working at a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT Support Business
  • Level 2/3 support experience in a similar technical environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and endpoint management solutions
  • Experience using PSA and RMM tools similar to NinjaOne
  • Professional IT certifications such as Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or similar
  • Experience with network security implementation including VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
