Job description
The Laboratory Technical Specialist is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting and optimizing laboratory analytical equipment to ensure accurate, reliable and compliant testing results., * Providing Subject Matter Expertise and advanced troubleshooting for all analytical instrumentation issues within the QC Laboratory
- Adhere to all departmental and site specific Safety, Health and Environmental protocols. Participate in regular safety discussions as well as maintain compliance in all required trainings as related to Safety, Health and Environmental protocols.
- Maintain instrument maintenance and calibration schedules as per the requirements of the analytical techniques, including but not limited to performance of routine preventative maintenance, execution of calibration checks and performance validations.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and software related instrumentation issues up to and including coordination with vendors for advanced servicing needs.
- Manage non-routine inventory needs of key critical instrumentation parts including evaluation of alternative suppliers
- Support ISO/RCMS compliance by ensuring accurate calibration records are maintained including certifications, service records, and regulatory documents.
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for analytical instrumentation and provide instrument super users/chemists guidance and training on instrument use, care and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve instrument reliability and performance, reduce downtime and streamline workflows and processes.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Productivity software?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Instrumentation or Electrical Associates Degree
Working Experience
- 6 years of practical instrumentation equipment experience in a laboratory facility
Required Personal and Professional Skills
- Ability to work independently to identify and resolve complex analytical instrumentation issues
- Basic working knowledge of Chromatographic instrumentation systems
- Working knowledge of the following analytical techniques preferred: Automated Titration, Automatic Physical property testers (Distillation, Flash Point, Viscosity), Spectroscopy, Vacuum systems
- Computer competency including knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft Office applications.
