Job description
The Role: We manage a robust WordPress Multisite environment, creating highly customized parent and child themes for our clients. We have a talented team of developers and designers, and we are looking for a heavy-hitting Senior Developer to join the team.
You will be responsible for architecting high-quality, engaging websites, setting code standards, and mentoring junior team members. We are looking for someone who knows how to leverage modern tools (including AI coding assistants) to accelerate their workflow without sacrificing quality, performance, or security.
Requirements
Do you have experience in WordPress?, * Expert WordPress Development: Deep experience building custom, secure WordPress themes from scratch using a Parent + Child theme architecture within a Multisite environment.
- Design Translation: Pixel-perfect execution when converting Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design files into fully functional, responsive WordPress sites.
- Core Front-End Skills: Masterful understanding of HTML5, modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, animations, Bootstrap/Tailwind), and vanilla JavaScript (ES6+).
- PHP Proficiency: Strong understanding of PHP as it relates to WordPress (template hierarchy, custom post types, advanced custom fields, and functions.php).
- Code Quality & Workflows: Expert in Git version control, managing branching strategies, reviewing pull requests from junior developers (and auditing their code), and maintaining high architectural standards.
- Performance & Accessibility: Strong knowledge of Core Web Vitals optimization, asset bundling, and WCAG accessibility standards.
- AI as a Tool, Not a Crutch: You use AI coding assistants to speed up boilerplate and workflows, but you deeply understand the code you are committing. You can easily spot AI hallucinations, security vulnerabilities, and bad architectural choices in pull requests.
- Deep Debugging & Troubleshooting: You don't panic when the AI gets it wrong. You have the advanced ability to dive into server logs, diagnose weird WordPress Multisite database conflicts, and resolve edge-case issues independently.
Preferred (Bonus Points):
- DevOps / Infrastructure: Experience helping manage and maintain AWS servers, deployment pipelines, and backend infrastructure.
