Job description
The Director of Technology Operations is a hands-on role responsible for managing and supporting all aspects of the firm's technology environment. This position serves as the firm's primary IT resource, working closely with attorneys and staff to ensure systems, networks, and data are secure, stable, and reliable., * Provide day-to-day technical support to attorneys and staff
- Onboard and offboard users; manage accounts, permissions, and system access
- Support and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, phones, conferencing, and AV systems
- Maintain on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, and networks
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats and system issues
- Oversee backups, disaster recovery, system patching, firewall configuration, and vendor coordination
- Support legal-specific systems such as document management, docketing, and timekeeping platforms
- Manage technology inventory, software licensing, renewals, and vendor relationships
- Assist with infrastructure improvements and cloud initiatives
Requirements
Do you have experience in Computer science?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, This is a full-time position and is well suited for a self-directed professional who is comfortable operating as a solo IT leader in a law-firm environment., * Experience in IT operations, systems administration, or technical support, preferably in a law firm or regulated professional environment
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, virtual machines (VMs), Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based applications
- Experience supporting end-user hardware, software, printers, phones, and conferencing technology
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including email security, endpoint protection, patch management, and data protection
- Experience with backup systems, disaster recovery, and data restores
- Familiarity with legal-specific software (e.g., document management, docketing, timekeeping, or case management systems) preferred
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and serve as the firm's primary IT resource
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills with non-technical users
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
