Job description

This contract System Administrator 2 position will work within the corporate Operational Technology Software Infrastructure and Support Services in the Operational Technology Group. The purpose of this position is to support the application support teams by performing Windows and Linux system administrator tasks and application support, * Maintain Windows Client/Server architecture including application support.

  • Maintain Linux Client/Server architecture including application support.
  • Maintain Windows IIS architecture including application and configuration support.
  • Communicate technically with software developers.
  • Implement software deployments.
  • Install, configure and support server-based applications.
  • Configure and administer multiple server applications hosted in IIS and/or Apache.
  • Act as a point-of-contact to troubleshoot application issues.
  • Maintain application documentation as it relates to corporate-specific implementations
  • Support the installation and maintenance of high-availability servers using Windows/Linux
  • Collaborate with a server team on implementation of patches, hot fixes, service packs, etc.
  • Act as a point-of-contact to troubleshoot server issues.
  • Perform system administration including Configuring applicable software and systems, Maintaining local documentation, Installing/updating/removing software, Applying change control processes and procedures, Troubleshooting and resolving issues, Non-production workstations, Patch management, Software deployment services, Windows infrastructure, In-house developed applications, PowerShell Scripting and Automation, and Managing Scheduled Tasks
  • Analyzing, implementing, and reporting the operational compliance of all control center cyber assets.
  • Validate hardware and infrastructure design specifications
  • Identify any areas of risk regarding the accomplishment of assignments.
  • Monitor and verify system availability to meet service level agreements.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to customers, troubleshoot complex problems, and provide support in a manner that minimizes interruptions
  • Participate in a regular rotation providing "on call" support for critical infrastructure systems servers.
  • Regularly publish and communicate how each environment is configured
  • Communicate with technical team and Quality Assurance (QA) team members to verify that implementations meet requirements
  • Perform routine audits of security controls
  • Apply configuration settings to servers as pre-defined and documented
  • Assist in release management and deployment of application customizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred.
  • With an applicable Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, 3 years of experience is required.
  • Without an Associate's or Bachelor's, or a non-applicable degree, 5 years of experience is required., * 3 years of demonstrated experience in an enterprise environment installing, configuring and supporting server-based applications

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of and experience working with;
  • Configuration and management of commercial off-the-shelf .NET and Java applications
  • Working knowledge of networking and security protocols including constrained delegation and Kerberos
  • FISMA, NERC CIP standards and controls
  • Configuration of application monitoring
  • A working knowledge and experience sufficient to successfully troubleshoot Windows or Linux operating systems using text-based logs, event logs, and various utilities
