Job description

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) I, Information Technology & Facilities provides strategic and operational leadership for AFI's enterprise Information Technology services and corporate Facilities operations. This role directs staff responsible for IT infrastructure, systems development, user support, facilities maintenance, office services, purchasing, and physical infrastructure. The AVP I, Information Technology & Facilities ensures that AFI's technology systems and facilities assets are secure, compliant, reliable, and capable of supporting current and future organizational needs, while contributing to operational efficiency, innovation, and organizational profitability., * Provides executive-level leadership and management for Information Technology Services and Facilities Management operations

  • Establishes departmental goals, budgets, policies, and operational methods in alignment with AFI's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures information systems, infrastructure, and corporate facilities are properly maintained, secured, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
  • Optimizes the utilization of human, financial, and physical resources to improve efficiency and organizational performance
  • Optimizes governance, controls, and processes to ensure information security, data integrity, and operational continuity
  • Coordinates with leadership across AFI business units to support enterprise-wide initiatives and organizational objectives
  • Oversees vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party service providers supporting IT and facilities operations
  • Identifies, evaluates, and recommends improvements, modernization initiatives, and innovation opportunities

Essential Functions

  • Directs and oversees staff performing systems development, systems acquisition, programming, infrastructure maintenance, user support, facilities maintenance, office services, and purchasing
  • Leads the development and management of departmental budgets, staffing plans, performance evaluations, and staff development initiatives
  • Manages the planning, acquisition, implementation, and lifecycle management of enterprise hardware, software, and facilities infrastructure
  • Provides leadership in the deployment and ongoing support of corporate information systems utilized by AFI and affiliated entities
  • Collaborates with the Vice President, Information Technology and other senior leaders to implement strategic plans and allocate resources effectively
  • Ensures effective business continuity, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity practices are established and maintained
  • Conducts detailed analyses of operational performance, budgets, programs, systems, and facilities initiatives; prepare documented recommendations for senior leadership review
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, regulatory authorities, and industry contacts
  • Participates in cross-functional committees, project teams, and special initiatives as assigned
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, in support of departmental and/or corporate objectives

Requirements

Do you have experience in Vendor relationship management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * BA/BS Degree in relevant discipline

  • Four years of relevant work experience may substitute this requirement
  • Advanced degree preferred, * Five years of progressive leadership experience managing Information Technology services, facilities management, or enterprise infrastructure operations
  • Advanced degree may be substituted for two years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing physical assets, IT systems, budgets, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience operating in regulated environments strongly preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal communications skills, to include the ability to engage in effective counseling with subordinates, the ability to conduct efficient meetings and/or training sessions, deliver presentations, and to effectively communicate with executive management and external professional contacts (vendors, industry contacts, regulators, etc.)
  • Excellent written communications skills, to include the ability to produce well-documented recommendations for senior management, policy and procedure statements, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and other non-routine correspondence with external professional contacts
  • Ability to utilize AFI's computer systems for data access and manipulation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)
  • Working knowledge of project management tools preferred, * Ability to perform complex analytical and financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, statistical analysis, variance analysis, and modeling

Professional Certifications

  • Completion of Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent professional designation
  • Completion of Certified Facilities Manager designation (CFM) within 33 months in the position if not previously obtained
