Job description
- Data collection and concept validation for R&D - for internal and external customers with a focus on new applications
- Collect spectral data from released and experimental systems for use in system characterization and design optimization
- Perform data analysis to identify underlying patterns and trends, including regressions and PCA.
- Generate reports on measured system performance including data visualization, technical analysis and recommendations on how to improve results toward key metrics
- Serve as project engineer on OEM development efforts, helping bring customer inspired technical solutions to fruition
- Interface with multi-disciplinary teams and communicate with technical experts in optics, electrical design, software algorithms and volume manufacturing
- Lead the development, refinement and execution of optical system test plans
- Contribute to commercial and OEM product specification development
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and production teams on quality control procedures, metrics, and analysis
Requirements
Do you have experience in Teamwork?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * 3-5 years' experience in laboratory or industry work related to spectroscopic, optical, or chemical measurement and analysis
- Experience defining and following laboratory or manufacturing processes & procedures
Preferred Experience
- Experience with spectroscopy, including Raman, absorbance, and fluorescence
- Experience with laser systems and an understanding of laser safety requirements
- Experience with chemical handling and safety (MSDS)
- Experience with optical breadboards and optical benches
Education/Skills
- MS or PhD in chemistry, physics, optics, or related field
- Strong skills with Excel and comparable data analysis packages
- Strong communication skills and positive attitude to work with engineering, manufacturing, and business teams towards success of products
- Strong organizational skills and capability of generating necessary written documentation
- Self-motivated to work on multiple development projects simultaneously, * Master's (Required)
