Job description

We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with strong product instincts and hands-on AI experience to help build the next generation of internal tooling at Smith Industries.

You'll work across mobile, backend, cloud infrastructure, and AI systems to build applications used daily by maintenance operators, commercial teams, and leadership.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from zero, shipping quickly, and working across the full stack with modern AI tooling.

What You'll Build

  • Internal operational tools for maintenance and field teams
  • Predictive maintenance systems for industrial equipment
  • Commercial and pricing tools powered by operational data
  • AI and LLM interfaces that allow employees to interact with company systems conversationally
  • RAG pipelines connecting fragmented business and operational data sources
  • Mobile and web applications for real-time operational workflows
  • Cloud-native infrastructure and APIs on AWS, We care more about builders than exact frameworks, but technologies likely include:
  • React / React Native

Requirements

Do you have experience in UX design?, * 4-6+ years of full-stack or application development experience

  • Strong UI/UX sensibility with the ability to build polished, intuitive products
  • Experience designing and deploying serverless architectures
  • 5+ years working with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience building with LLMs, AI agents, or RAG pipelines in production or serious side projects
  • Ability to move quickly and operate with high ownership in ambiguous environments

Nice to Have

  • React Native experience with apps shipped to the App Store or Google Play
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Windsurf, or similar
  • Background in big data, telemetry pipelines, or industrial systems
  • Experience integrating disparate APIs, databases, and legacy systems
  • Interest in industrial operations, logistics, manufacturing, or infrastructure technology
