Job description
We are looking for a full-time Senior Embedded Systems & Product Development Engineer to lead the technical development and functionality of our biometric security device. This individual will play a critical role in both the electronic and physical product development process.
This position requires strong technical ability, excellent time management, and the ability to meet aggressive project timelines while working closely with leadership in a collaborative startup-style environment.
ResponsibilitiesEmbedded Systems & Electronics
- Develop and manage firmware functionality
- Configure keypad and PIN login behavior
- Integrate and optimize fingerprint scanner functionality
- Manage screen behavior and user interaction flow
- Implement timeout, wipe, and security access features
- Assist with stored credential access systems
- Support battery management and charging systems
- Assist with solar input integration
- Participate in PCB planning and hardware architecture
- Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues
Product Development & Mechanical Coordination
- Assist in transforming prototype electronics into a manufacturable product
- Collaborate on enclosure design and internal component layout
- Help optimize placement of buttons, screen, and biometric components
- Evaluate durability, usability, and manufacturability
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors when necessary
Requirements
Do you have experience in Project timeline management?, We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented engineer to help bring our device from development to production., * Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in embedded systems, electrical engineering, hardware development, or related fields
- Experience with firmware development and embedded hardware systems
- Knowledge of PCB design concepts and hardware integration
- Strong understanding of electronic components and product development workflows
- Ability to manage timelines and meet project goals efficiently
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Professional references required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with biometric devices or authentication systems
- Experience with battery-powered electronics
- Familiarity with cybersecurity-focused hardware products
- Experience preparing products for manufacturing
