Job description
JDP Tampa LLC is looking for a Mid-Level Network Support Engineer to support and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across multi-site environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, configuring Cisco networking devices, monitoring network performance, and ensuring secure and reliable network operations.
The candidate will work closely with IT teams to support LAN/WAN infrastructure, resolve Tier 1/2 incidents, and maintain high availability for business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls.
Configure, manage, and support Cisco routers, switches, VLANs, and Cisco IOS devices.
Monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts to maintain uptime and SLA compliance.
Support LAN/WAN environments, office network setups, and secure remote connectivity solutions.
Perform network traffic analysis and packet troubleshooting using Wireshark and NetFlow.
Assist with firewall management, ACL configuration, and network security implementations.
Maintain accurate network documentation including IP addressing, configurations, and inventory records.
Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional IT teams to resolve incidents and improve network performance.
Support Windows and Linux environments related to network operations.
Participate in change management, incident response, and disaster recovery activities.
Requirements
3+ years of experience in Network Support or Network Administration.
Strong knowledge of:
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP
VLANs, VPNs (IPsec/SSL/GRE), QoS
Subnetting and network troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and Cisco IOS.
Experience with Cisco ASA/FTD firewalls, ACLs, IDS/IPS, and network security concepts.
Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark and NetFlow.
Knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Linux environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in enterprise or multi-site network environments.
Understanding of ITIL processes and change management practices.
Certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or Security+ are preferred.
Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field is a plus.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
