IDF Build - Scope of Work
The scope of this project is the initial deployment and setup of multiple Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) locations within the data centre environment. Work is limited to installation and deployment activities only and does not include ongoing maintenance, break/fix support, or troubleshooting after handover.
Scope of Services
The vendor will be responsible for the following activities within each IDF location:
· Installation and setup of network infrastructure equipment
· Rack and cabinet equipment mounting as required
· Deployment and routing of power cabling
· Deployment and routing of network cabling
· Fiber optic cabling installation and management
· Installation and connection of RPDU cabling
· Structured cable dressing and cable management
· Equipment patching and physical connectivity
· Device placement and installation for all designated hardware
· Basic visual verification of installed connections
· Labeling of cables and installed infrastructure according to project standards
· Maintaining clean and organized installation practices throughout deployment
· Deployment Order per IDF
The installation activities within each IDF will follow this sequence:
· MGFX
· T2
· Optical
· RPDU Cabling
Across the IDF locations, the deployment includes approximately:
· Network and infrastructure device installation
· Power cable deployment
· Network cable deployment
Exclusions
The following activities are excluded from this scope:
· Ongoing maintenance
· Troubleshooting and fault remediation
· Device configuration or advanced network programming
· Operational support after deployment completion
· Hardware replacement services
· Monitoring services
Deliverables
The vendor is expected to provide:
· Completed physical installation of all assigned equipment and cabling
· Proper cable management and labeling
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, * Experience with rack and stack deployments in data center environments
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards and best practices
- Ability to read rack elevations, patching matrices, and floor plans
- Familiarity with fiber optic and copper connectivity standards
- Experience using hand tools, cable testing equipment, and labeling systems
- Understanding of airflow management and cable containment principles
- Basic networking knowledge including switches, patching, and port identification
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in Microsoft data centers or hyperscale environments
- Familiarity with IDF and MDF deployments
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Dell, HPE, or Supermicro hardware
- Knowledge of data center operational procedures and access controls
- Previous exposure to live data center environment

- High level of accountability and professionalism
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Flexible for travel and shift work, including nights and weekends where required
talking about manpower, due to a short notice and short project lead times we are looking at teams consisting of 8-12 people ( mix between ATC and vendor crew).
