Job description

At the center of this mission, the Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) unifies data, sensors, mission applications, cloud-based services, and emerging AI-enabled automation to give warfighters a decisive edge-turning complex, multi-domain information into fast, clear, and actionable decisions in the moments that matter most. The CMCC System Facilitator contract positions SAIC to accelerate how new capabilities are integrated, tested, secured, and transitioned into operational use, working side-by-side with operators, engineers, Capability Providers, and government teams to ensure every delivery strengthens mission readiness. This effort offers the chance to directly shape how the Air Force sees, decides, and acts across all domains-making a tangible and immediate impact on warfighter effectiveness.

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Configuration Manager to support our United States Air Force customer. The ideal candidate will require experience in weapon system design, development, configuration management, architecture, and large distributed compute platforms.

In support of the government customer, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer; the Configuration Manager is responsible for:

  • Perform configuration management identification, control, accounting, and audits.
  • Develop and maintain customer's Configuration Management Plan.
  • Assess and allocate requests for change.
  • Review and coordinate on changes to specifications, interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system level requirements documentation.
  • Interface with configuration management personnel in other government offices and with development contractor to coordinate customer's assessments of requests for change.
  • Prepare and coordinate customer's requests for change.
  • Represent the customer in Enterprise and development contractor CM forums.
  • Coordinate and facilitate customer control boards (e.g. change control, engineering review, requirements review) and participation in development contractor boards.
  • Manage structure of data content in configuration management folders.
  • Attend contractor reviews (e.g. PMRs, PDR, CDR, pre- ship and other meetings) to provide technically based recommendations.
  • Baseline control and managing product design changes and the effects of the overall system.
  • Assist in documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications for each Configuration Item (CI) in accordance with change processes and tools.
  • Prepares configuration verification audits (including PCA/FCA) for all programs.
  • Configuration management of repositories, hardware and software CIs and track technical data packages.
  • Ensures configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations.
  • Prepares deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
  • Facilitates and reviews all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness, and proper signatures.
  • Tracking CDRL Submittal and subsequent resubmittals.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System architecture?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelors degree and 14 years of experience TS/SCI Clearance Experience with CMPro, Confluence, and JIRA.

  • Experience with all 5 pillars of configuration management.
  • Experience in DOD 5000.02 standard, MIL Handbook.
  • Strong understanding of both HW (including virtual) and SW CM.

Benefits & conditions

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
