Job description
The individual in this position maintains and provides ongoing support for the City of Griffin public safety systems, workstations, servers, disaster recovery systems, and related equipment and/or technologies. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of public safety and other City operations. Essential duties include the following.
- Provides technical support and recommends cybersecurity measures for all public safety devices, software, hardware, and related equipment and/or technologies.
- Provides technical and administrative support of the Records Management System (RMS), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Message Switch (MS), and other public safety integrated systems.
- Provides technical support of all public safety systems in police cars, including, but not limited to, computer, modem, in-car camera system, GPS, and configurations specific to e911 & GCIC communications.
- Provides technical Support for the Universal Latent Workstation (ULW), Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), and LiveScan systems for fingerprint identification, analysis, and transfer.
- Provides technical support of digital forensics systems, including GrayKey and Cellebrite smartphone extraction software.
- Provides technical support of the AXON camera, warrant system, drone, and other operational technologies.
- Manages data storage and security for all police departmental systems.
- Provides technical support to all sworn public safety personnel in their daily technological needs.
- Evaluates and provides technology-related recommendations for public safety personnel.
- Documents systems and configurations.
- Provides and administers network systems and enterprise management.
- Provides support for the VOIP system.
- Provides IT support and administration to all City end-users.
- Administers and maintains end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights through Active Directory.
- Maintains helpdesk support systems.
- Provides guidance to helpdesk administrators, as warranted.
- Assists with the management of wireless handheld devices/email/software, and PC remote management.
- Maintains backup and disaster recovery systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned
