AEVEX is seeking a Level 2 Systems Administrator to support and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure across a dynamic, security-focused environment. This role is ideal for a mid-level IT professional who thrives in both operational support and project-based work, with experience in modern endpoint management, cloud services, and automation.
This role will travel occasionally to Solana Beach.
Essential Functions
- Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Provide Tier 2 support, troubleshooting and resolving escalated user and system issues.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning/deprovisioning, access control, hardware setup, and system configuration.
- Ensure proper access, licensing, and security group assignments aligned with organizational policies.
- Deploy, configure, and support new systems, applications, and network solutions.
- Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal and organizational security standards.
- Support ongoing programs requiring advanced IT knowledge and technical expertise.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and configurations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams.
- Perform other duties as required.

Requirements
Do you have experience in Research?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Security Clearance-Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

- Proficient in administration of Active Directory, Microsoft O365, and Microsoft Azure
- Proficient in windows Server/Desktop and Linux operating systems
- Proficient in networking fundamentals (switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs)
- Proficient in virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, and/or cloud environments)
- Basic knowledge of VoIP and database administration concepts
- Knowledge of integration with identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID
- Ability to leverage AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot to improve efficiency, automate tasks, and generate documentation
- Familiarity with SharePoint or other content management systems
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570 Level II certification or Microsoft Cloud certification preferred
- Additional related Information Technology certifications preferred, * 3 years' experience working in a Level 1 or higher support role
- 4 + years of experience without a Degree
- Experience heading up technical projects (research to implementation)
- Experience with endpoint management using Microsoft Intune (device enrollment, compliance, and application deployment)
- Preferred experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Power Platform (eg. Power Bi, and Power Automate)
- Scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience backing up Virtual Machines and data utilizing Veeam.
- Experience with security compliance frameworks (DFARS, NIST, PCI, HIPAA)
