The IS&T Field Infrastructure Network Engineer will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and supporting network and infrastructure services at project sites. This role ensures reliable connectivity and secure operations for engineering, procurement, and construction activities. The engineer will deploy and manage LAN/WAN systems, private cellular networks (PCN), and associated hardware, while providing hands-on technical support for all field systems. The position requires close collaboration with the project IS&T Operations Manager and global IS&T teams to implement project and enterprise standards, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize performance in a dynamic project environment. Major Responsibilities:

Deploy and support all IS&T infrastructure hardware and services supporting the Poland AP1000 project's engineering, procurement, and construction effort.

Deploy and support infrastructure including global servers, storage systems, virtualization, LAN/WAN, private cellular networks (PCN), video conferencing platforms, and all associated end-user devices.

Support core services such as Active Directory, identity and access management, cloud platforms, and foundational components (DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS).

Manage IP address space inventory and ensure proper allocation and documentation across all network segments.

Ensure high availability and performance of critical systems supporting project execution.

Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Coordinate with corporate, business unit, and business partner IS&T teams to implement enterprise and cross-enterprise solutions and maintain alignment with Bechtel standards.

Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services.

Lead incident response and disaster recovery planning for site operations. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to local IT support staff.

Monitor infrastructure performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Support infrastructure planning, pricing, and strategy with the IS&T Operations Manager.

Provide support for special projects and innovative initiatives.

Support the IS&T Program Manager in executing the infrastructure portion of the IS&T automation plan.

Requirements
- Requires bachelor's degree (or internal equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Networking Fundamentals: Strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, and MPLS.
- Network Hardware Expertise: Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cross platform communications.
- Security and Compliance: Experience implementing network security measures, including firewall policies, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and familiarity with ISMS frameworks and ISO/IEC 27001.
- Private Cellular Networks (PCN): Knowledge of private LTE/5G networking concepts and integration with enterprise infrastructure.
- Core Infrastructure Services: Understanding of DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and identity/access management.
- Cloud Networking: Experience with hybrid and cloud-based networking (AWS, Azure) and SD-WAN solutions.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Skilled in using diagnostic tools (packet analysers, performance monitors) and resolving complex connectivity issues.
- Scripting and Automation: Ability to use scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for network automation and configuration management.
- ITSM Practices: Familiarity with IT Service Management frameworks (ITIL) and tools such as ServiceNow for incident/change management.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, and ability to work under pressure in dynamic environments.
- Certifications (Preferred): CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent professional credentials.
