Job description
Morning brings schematics, layout reviews, and system trade studies for electrical subsystems that connect to military platforms, including aircraft. Midday, you're deep in Altium, refining CCAs and printed circuit boards while shaping embedded firmware to bring designs to life. Afternoon, you're in design reviews providing clear, constructive feedback-and later documenting requirements, test plans, and reports. On occasion, you'll travel to support integration and test., * Architect, develop, debug, deploy, and sustain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing ICE products.
- Elicit, define, and document hardware, data I/O, and system-level requirements.
- Design, implement, test, modify, install, and update embedded software and firmware.
- Evaluate system and software designs, equipment, and techniques; recommend improvements that raise performance and reliability.
- Participate in and contribute to formal design reviews; offer actionable peer feedback.
- Track industry trends and fold innovative approaches into future iterations.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
- Travel occasionally as project needs dictate.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) protocol?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred. (An associate's degree plus 9+ years of electronic design experience may substitute.)
- 6+ years of experience in electrical/computer engineering.
- Hands-on knowledge of digital communication hardware and protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, MIL-STD-1553, etc.
- Extensive experience with Altium Designer.
- Proven background in CCA hardware and PWB development.
- Ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams; strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Encryption hardware experience is a plus.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.
