Job description
&bull Highly skilled and experienced Senior Virtual/VMware Engineer to architect, implement, and manage our mission-critical virtualized environment leveraging VMware technologies. &bull This role demands a proactive, results-oriented individual capable of engineering and deploying complex virtual infrastructures that align with diverse business needs while ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance. &bull As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our VMware environment, driving initiatives in proactive monitoring, performance tuning, security hardening, and automated patching. &bull You will engineer robust disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including the implementation of a NetApp/Cohesity-based backup and recovery strategy. &bull The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of VMware products, strong scripting and automation skills, a background in storage integration, and a proven ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve critical system issues. &bull Experience with Cisco UCS Hyperflex HX and Blade Servers is highly valued.
Requirements
&bull The Senior VMware Engineer will possess a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex virtualized environments utilizing VMware vSphere and related technologies. &bull Expert-level knowledge of VMware technologies is required. &bull The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and possess a proven track record of resolving intricate technical challenges. &bull A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology or a related field is preferred however, equivalent technical certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP, VCIX) or demonstrable experience will be considered. &bull Expert-level skills in backup and recovery solutions, including Cohesity and Veeam, are mandatory. &bull Furthermore, the candidate must exhibit extensive experience with virtualized environments encompassing diverse Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and solutions. &bull A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service while supporting an enterprise Active Directory infrastructure is crucial. &bull This position mandates compliance with DoD 8570.01-M, fulfilling the requirements of an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II, including possession of a Security+ certification., * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology or a related field is preferred however, equivalent technical certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP, VCIX) or demonstrable experience will be considered.
