Position Title: Power System Design Engineer The Power system team is part of the System Engineering group at GDLS. Our mission is to investigate, design, develop, and integrate power subsystem capabilities for the current and next generation of vehicle platforms. The team works within larger systems group with responsibility and authority to deliver design requirements, perform analysis, guide the hardware and software design teams with the goal of integrating and testing them at the subsystem and vehicle level., * Lead Power system design and development efforts regarding a mix of advanced capabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Power subsystem design and integration
  • Power system Architecture Decisions
  • Advanced Technologies trade studies

Work internally and externally with vendors/partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems seemingly onto GDLS platforms

Develop CAE models for complex hybrid electric systems - Integration of HV Battery, ISG, E-Motor, DC/DCs, power distribution devices into a Power subsystem model

Creation and integration of CAE models into a power subsystem model to dynamically evaluate system performance for various external factors (Drive cycles, tolerances, loading profiles, environmental and road load conditions etc.)

Perform a component and system sizing analysis for various conditions based on customer requirements

Understanding of features/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases

Provide direction for team members including technology roadmaps and mentorship.
